Supporting Art Education in Colorado

Dear Educators,

This Scholastics year has been like no other. There have been many changes as we navigated a completely online adjudication and program. What did not change was the artistic spirit and creativity of the student artwork in Colorado. Although the process of the awards may have looked different, we are honored and proud of the students who submitted artwork and those selected for awards.

We are excited to share their artwork in a state-of-the-art virtual gallery experience designed and made by Colorado high school students in partnership with Red Rocks Community College which will be on the website. We thank you for your patience in this process and look forward to the big reveal on April 5th, 2021. In this email, you will find resources to help you share the awards and virtual gallery with your school, students, and their families. You may post on social, school websites, Google classrooms, student emails. Share this news!

Congratulations on the achievement of your students. We wish you and your classes a wonderful remainder of the school year! - The Colorado Scholastic Art Awards Team

Congratulations to [student names] for their awards with the Colorado Scholastic Art Awards, the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7-12.

In 2020-2021, students and teachers coped with the pandemic, virtual learning, losses, and other challenges to create and submit over 2400 pieces. Jurors virtually adjudicated and selected works that best exemplify the voice, originality, and technical skill. Award winners receive a recognition certificate and are featured in the Virtual Gallery on the Colorado Scholastics website. Gold Key pieces are judged nationally to potentially receive national medals and recognition.

A Virtual Art Gallery, at, provides the opportunity for students, parents, and teachers statewide to see and celebrate the exceptional artworks. Two high school student interns working in conjunction with mentors and support from Red Rocks Community College created this amazing gallery. These students are the next generation of artists, visionaries, leaders, and entrepreneurs. Please help us celebrate their accomplishments by viewing the virtual gallery at and to learn more visit
